This is going to be the biggest blog post I’ve ever made for a wedding, for good reason. My clients Bri & Michael threw the most stunning wedding at Hotel Xcaret in the Riviera Maya hotel zone of Mexico.
Hotel Xcaret is relatively new, and feels like one of the most luxurious all-inclusives on the Caribbean side of Mexico.
Their wedding packages are on the higher end for Mexico, but it is worth it because you won’t need to add a lot of decor as the location truly speaks for itself.

Getting Ready
In order to have your wedding at Hotel Xcaret, at least 80% of your guests must stay at the resort. In order to book a wedding there, you must put a deposit on a room block. All of Bri & Michael’s friends and family stayed at Hotel Xcaret so they could get ready together and help the bride and groom prepare for the ceremony.
The Ceremony
The ceremony was held in the lagoon, in front of a waterfall. Caves surrounded this area on both sides so it felt very secluded. There were several sets of stairs and bridges to cross the lagoon and get to the ocean. I should note that this location is probably not easily accessible for those who are disabled.
Photo Hour
After completing the group photos at the ceremony site, we climbed up the stairs out of the lagoon and crossed the bridges to get out to the beach for the couple's newlywed portraits. There were some storm clouds to the south that created a lovely cotton candy sky as we wrapped up portrait time and headed back to the lagoon for dinner.
The Reception
The reception took place in the lagoon as well, just a short walk through a cave from the ceremony spot. This area easily accommodated 50+ guests. The decor was stunning and the hotel staff was amazing. The DJ kept the party lively until the very end.
